Impact analysis
About $1.4 million a year at 10%, $2.8 million at 12% — all from hotel guests.
Residents who rely on city services, since visitors foot most of the bill for closing the budget gap.

Pleasanton's 8% hotel tax hasn't moved since 1983. The Council is asking voters this November to raise it to 10% in 2027 and 12% in 2028 — about $2.8 million a year at full implementation — to help close a $4.4–$8.3 million structural budget deficit. Hotels, still recovering from COVID, backed the phased approach; Councilmember Testa wanted the full 12% immediately.
