Shell rebrand signage (P25-0300)

Urged the council to deny the Shell signage, arguing it violates the general plan and downtown specific plan and would set a precedent eroding Pleasanton's design standards at a gateway.

Called the fight over six inches of canopy color 'the epitome of nitpicking' and urged approval, arguing denial sends businesses the message that Pleasanton isn't welcoming.

As the project's representative, walked the council through the branding reductions — from 36 inches of Sunoco color down to the Planning Commission's 18 inches — and asked for approval and finality for the business.
